Why Us?
October 23, 2007 |
I have no clue why this is, but about 200 people are reading this blog regularily. But over the last week or so the number of unique visitors has sky rocketed to an average of about 400, and yesterday set a new record with 673 unique visitors to this blog.
So thanks everyone who is reading this. And also to the many who comment on my writings in here. And lately a fellow Isaan based blogger even blogged about my blog in his Isan- Thailand Blog. He claimed he is addicted to this blog and well, I can’t for the life of me understand why?
Else there is the numerous people that instead of commenting on the public side, sends me a private message using the “Contact Me” form. People are asking me for advice about everything from travel in Thailand to how to sort out their own relationships, and how to solve problems arrising from cultural differences. And I feel very little qualified to deal out any advice. But I try to answer every single one of them anyway.
Okay, back to the regular and boring life of Nan and Rune:
We continue improving our house, and the concrete around the house should be finished this afternoon. So we should be starting painting tomorrow.
As of yet, no sign of that electrician though. And we have to buy that stove/oven thing before we can finish the kitchen, as I have no clue what height the stove will be. And I want the kitchen benches to be at the same height. Mindful that Nan is not exactly towering above ground level. She is so small I am afraid she’ll drown should she wade trough a wet spot on the floor.
Also we need to find some tops for the kitchen benches. I have no clue where to find anything like that around here. At least in some material that do not cost an arm and a leg. The list of things to find, purchase and do is just mind boggling. But I start to see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
Anyway, as promised before I’ll post pictures when it’s all ready. So mom you’ll just have to wait a liiiiitle bit longer.
Okay, finally, there is a little poll up on the left hand menu where you can put in why you read this blog. I am dying to know, so please tell me!
That’s it!

hi guys, congratulations on the popularity of your blog, for me the attraction is reading about the same experiences I went through 3 years ago with my wife Tae and hopefully being able to contribute possitively to your blog.
An idea for your kitchen tops would be to make the top from marine ply, tile it, run a beading around the edge and then grout it. Its cheap and personalized to your taste, and if your feeling adventurous you can do it yourself!
Got you on my iPhone now Rune so there’s no getting away from me.. hahaha
We’ve been thinking about that for the kitchen tops Tony. Another candidate is to have them made in stone, as I hear that that material is quite cheap here.
I guess the theme will be up at our usual pillow talk session after the soap series on TV and lights out.
No comment on the iPhone
It is very nice to follow your life. I really wait everyday what´s happening today in your village and home. In Internet you can read so many bad stories about thai-farang relationships, yours is different. When reading your blog can feel good vibrations.

Where is the option for old friends back in Norway that has no option but to read your scriblings on this blog to know how you’re doing? Fact is, I know more about how you are doing than many our friends still living in Norway :oP
Remeber your old friend nagging you for not having a blog?
Hehe, Rune - even your mom was so inspired she put up a new blog herself
I agree with mr. Strind here in you having an option for old friends AND relatives
Dude, people are reading because you are off the hook man!!! I miss placed my toaster manual so thats my excuse.
No really,CONGRADULATIONS, your writing, as I told you when we met, reflects many other peoples experiances, I was going through the same thing way back when I stumbled accross your other blog. And its funny and interesting.Oh yea I also told everyone I know who is dating a Thai lady about this place,LOL.

As far as your counter tops go, tile should be pretty in expencive there.
With so many visitors you must be earning a fortune from the ads.
