Hut Progress

July 8, 2007 |

Far away from royal openings of a Wat in Norway, Nan is toiling away with the hut. They started on the stucco cement for the outer walls today, and she recons it will be finished tomorrow morning!

The tempo she is setting on this work is impressive. And she plans to to start painting the ceiling tomorrow. And when that is complete get the tiling of the floors done.

Anyway, a bit hard to sit here in La-La land and try to figure out what she is actually doing. And she has spotted a few things here and there she want to change about the house, or add to it. But she seems to stick with the budget, and it’s her place.

When it’s all complete she is planning a small party for everyone involved. Then there will be a big party when I arrive in August. By then it should be ready to move in. But we have some big purchases to be made. Beds for the boys, and a bed for me and an Nan too. We need a fridge, a stove with an oven, and a washing machine. Then we need a TV, and I am buying myself a Honda Wave motorcycle to get around.

Nan has all the pots and pans she need for cooking, but I’ll add some stuff for cooking farang food.

Luckily most of the stuff we need is a lot cheaper in Thailand than in my native Norway. But it will put a nice dent in my bank account anyway.
