The Looove Barometer

This may sound familiar to a certain regular reader and commenter in here. A while ago he presented the theory of percentage of marriage on his blog GeoffandAmy.com. I swear this is complete coincidence but it just goes to show that there are many similarities in Thai- Farang relationships.
This also goes back to the “Big Talk” post. Anyway, here it goes. Me an Nan are obviously not married yet, so she can’t apply the Amy theory. Instead she came up with the N.R.L.B. (Nan Rune Love Barometer). Basically she asks me now and then how much I love her. My usual answer is 100%. She then declares her victory as of course she loves me 200% and there is much cheering and jubilation on her part.
However on the night of the “Big Talk” my standing had fallen to 75% on the N.R.L.B. Which was why we had the big talk in the first place. I managed to raise my rating to 95% during our talk, and after her good dream about us it rose to 100%.
I don’t know what I have said or done since then, but overnight my ratings have suddenly sky rocketed. She just sent me an SMS update on where I stand, and she is now completely unbeatable. For while her ratings remain at a steady 100%, my ratings have gone up to… 1 million percent!
Yes that’s right. One million percent. When asked how my ratings could fluctuate so wildly, while hers remain constant, I was told that she is indeed cheating. Her ratings are pre- programmed into the N.R.L.B, and can never be changed. Indeed, they are only their to act as a calibration device. Her ratings are not measured, only mine. This sounds familiar. And I introduced her to Geoff and Amy’s percentage of marriage theory.
What was then revealed to me was groundbreaking information, and will keep the world of science in awe for centuries to come. It turns out that the N.R.L.B is closely linked to the percentage of marriage. With a high percentage of marriage, the males rating on the N.R.L.B will fluctuate less, and eventually stabilize at a level equal to the the females N.R.L.B calibration level of 100%.
When asked what could cause the N.R.L.B rating to sink bellow 100%, I was told that this was to complicated to explain over a phone line. But she is currently busy writing the documentation, and I would recieve all the answers upon my return to Thailand.
She also mentioned she would like to take me to see the village Buddha, because we needed to talk with him…

The only thing you need to know about either system is that SHE is the only one who can read the scale and do the complex calculations….so just hang on and enjoy the ride…
Yes that is true Geoff. But we can at least guess at some of the factors that may have an impact on the ratings. But I suspect that even these will be mere speculations and that male kind will just have to live in perpetual ignorance when it comes to decoding these devices
No matter how much I tell Kai I love her she always finishes with “Love you more than” and giggles. I will never win but it makes me very happy for the rest of the day.
