Hair and Mobiles

Life in Isaan is going as normal. Nan is finished doing work at the farm, and is turning herself into a lady again, according to herself. So she spent 4.5 hours at the salon yesterday fixing her hair. It cost her 500 baht, and was apparently worth every second, as she bumped into an old friend from when she “worked company”.

So they are now completely up to date when it comes to the latest gossip. The friend is married with a Thai man, has children, is doing well for herself and is “very happy to much”.

Four and a half hours to fix her hair. Well, I will do the same before I leave to see her. It will take me about 10 minutes and cost about 75 baht. What the heck where they doing with her hair? A full hair transplant? I will get to see when I arrive guess.

I called her yesterday, I had dinner, and then settled down in front of the TV. When I suddenly started hearing voices. I could not quite get where it came from, as they where very faint. So I dismissed it. And then a second later the power went off. And now I could hear someone calling my name.

I knew that voice, but it was still very faint. I got up from the chair, And there it was again. It was Nan’s voice! What the…!

Okay, dig into my pocket and yup, I had been pocket calling Nan in Thailand for 4 full minutes. She had a good laugh, and we ended up chatting for another 30 minutes. Mostly cosy mushy love talk…so I’ll keep that under a lid :-)

Whenever I spend 4.5 hours in a saloon, my hair always looks much worse.

Well, I guess mine too. Well, removed the extra “o” that had snuck it’s way in there.

    Have a good weekend folks
