A New Start Mark II

May 13, 2007 |

coconut9.jpgWell, I moved again. This time under my own domain, using the Wordpress blog thingy. Sorry for all the confusion folks, but from now in this will be my permanent address. I am here to stay. After all I spent most of the weekend fiddling with all the settings.

Nan on the other hand spent most of yesterday cleaning the hut. The hut has however been upgraded to house again, as she confessed that it was the same size as her mums house.

She is however not at all convinced that I will be able to survive under her roof for long. This is her list of things that she thinks will have me running screaming for civilisation:

There is no electricity - Can fix
There is no TV - Well, the lack of electricity just may be to blame
Small toilet - So is mine
No air-con - I promised to keep up my normal “in Thailand hygiene regime”
No bed - we’ll go shopping
Kitchen no good - Can fix

My worry is there is no coconut trees, and thus depriving me of the enjoyable sight of her bum disappearing up one. She will of course kill me for this comment about coconuts and her rear, but such is life.

Since my last comment did not carry over, you can call it a hut, house or whatever, just make sure to make it a home. Looks like I may have beat Geoff to post the first comment, but then he is busy having a baby. The new website looks great. Ae’s grandfather’s house needed a lot of “safety” repairs and since I started out in home construction, I did what was necessary. Upon my next visit I was surprised witha remodeled bathroom, complete with western toilet. I wonder who paid for that? This was really when I first knew that I was accepted into the family. I’m really enjoying your life’s tales, keep up the good work.

    Well, the man is busy.

I have actually not seen the house, hut whatever it is yet. We will see. If it’s as bad as she thinks, we will have to look for a place to rent.

But I’d rather fix up her existing house, so that we can stay there whenever I am in Thailand, until something more permanent can be arranged.

Making it a home, well, right now, home is where Nan is :-)

So I am getting slow in my old age….well Doug, you won this round, but mark my words, I’ll get ya next time!

Great site Rune! Congrats the dramatic changes in the blog and especially in your life.

See if you have any more luck getting Nan to add her occasional two cents here than I have had getting Amy to….

‘Home is where Nan is’…that is sweet…be careful though or you may end up becoming as sappy as me

I had to put that in after the little remark about her bum and coconut trees. I am so dead!
