Still at Work
May 9, 2007 |
I called Nan this morning and her relatives are finally dispersing to Bangkok, Chon Buri, and other villages in Isaan. So Nan can finally relax. Me on the other hand is still in the sticks getting my hands dirty, while dreaming about sitting under the mango tree with Nan eating her barbecue chicken and sticky rice, swallowed down with a beer Lao.
Just three weeks and a few days and I can do that. However if she continues to feed me like she normally does, I think my already “pom puy nit noy” body will go “pum poy makh makh”. I wonder how the villagers will take to jogging farangs in their midst. It’s bad enough that I walked the 5-600 meters to the village grocery shop one morning.
Meanwhile I am seriously falling behind in my effort to learn to speak Thai. While Nan is reading English every day. I can hear her English improve almost daily, as she is using more and more new words, and her grammar is also getting there.
Yup, no doubts about whose got the brains and the looks in this relationship. But she still insist that I am a hansom and sexy man. If she could just stop giggling every time she uses those words
Okay, thats it for today. Have a good day folks.

Hi, I would be delighted to meet anyone after a few weeks up there I guess.
Have read your blog too, and it’s highly entertaining. Have linked it on my blogroll.
