Off Again

April 7, 2007 |

When I called Nan this morning, she was sitting on a motocy on her way to the bus station to catch the minibus to Bangkok. She will stay the night at her sisters place, and then meet me at the airport tomorrow morning. So at around 7am, local time tomorrow I will be a very happy puppy indeed.

We then set course for Pattaya, where we stay a couple of days, then head up country for 3 or 4 days, then back to Pattaya to get wet. Songkhran is soon here, and I have never experienced it, so off to the wildest place for it.

After that we have no plans. I imagine lazy days on a beach somewhere, visit a few of my favourite bars, and for Nan, go somewhere to “listen music” as that seem to be her favourite. She is a big fan of Lam Morrison who usually plays at the Blues Factory on Walking Street, so I guess that will be a regular stop for us.

Else this will be sort of a farewell to Pattaya for both of us. My next trip in June will be spent in Isaan. And theAugust trip I only have 12 days, so that will probably be about preparing for the long trip starting in September. I.e finding a place to live somewhere in the Buri Ram area.

Now for some celebration. This blog has passed 5000 hits in the last few days. So a big thanks to my regular readers for encouraging me to keep this up. Especially Geoff and Amy, whose excellent blog about a their life as a Thai/ Farang couple in Germany is a must read for anyone who has fallen for a Thai beauty.

Ok, no more updates for the next 2 weeks. But be sure to come back for more luaghs at my expense when I am back.

Have a happy Songkhran folks!

Update: Well, she reached her sisters place, and the two girls are now off to the nearest Som Tam vendor to stuff themselves with food and gossip about me (quite an ego booster that), and then it’s to go salon to dolly themselves up for tomorrow.

Judging on the shrieks and giggles that came trough the phone, from her sister and her room mates, they where having a grand time teasing Nan about me everytime she called me Teerak, honey or declared that she missed me.

Well, only 5 hours left until I depart in my taxi to the airport :-) I need a drink!
